Description
This research seminar shares the joys, challenges and considerations of designing an arts practice-as-research project entitled Lyrical Bodies. Originally designed to enhance equality, diversity and inclusivity within SETU, Lyrical Bodies now constitutes a five-year project exploring a ballet entitled Possession, written by Waterford playwright Teresa Deevy. The project is a collaboration between artists and directors from Dublin Theatre of the Deaf, Theatre Studies SETU staff and students, and internationally renowned performance artist Dr Amanda Coogan.The seminar will be facilitated by Drs Úna Kealy, Kate McCarthy and Jenny O’Connor. It was live translated into Irish Sign Language and wasrecorded.
