In this lecture, delivered online to the Ursuline Convent community, Dr Kealy and Dr McCarthy presented their research suggesting that Deevy’s second level education and extra curricular experiences in St Mary's Secondary School, Waterford form the intellectual and creative ground work to her later dramatic work. The lecture positioned Deevy’s work within the social and political context of the 1920s and 1930s.
