Short course proposed and executed at the ENCOM 2020. This course introduces the concepts of a novel research area in Telecommunications which is based on the usage of prokaryotic cells to transmit, process and receive chemical and biological signals. Therefore, this course aimed to enable and inspire Brazilian students and researchers to start to work in this area.
