This group was established in 2001 to support teaching, research and student exchanges between Memorial University and now SETU. It complements the governmental links expressed in an MOU between the Irish Government and the provincial government in Newfoundland and Labrador. It also plays a role with respect to promoting educational and cultural links in tandem with the municipal twinning between Waterford and St John’s. It supports staff seeking to apply for funding through the Ireland Canada University Foundation and the International Council for Canadian Studies.
