Organisation profile
HealthCORE includes the National Centre for Men’s Health (NCMH) and the Rehabilitative Sciences Research Centre (RSRC). The aim of the National Centre for Men’s Health is to develop innovative and applied research programmes in the area of men’s health through the development of partnerships with key stakeholders. In doing so, the Centre seeks to raise the public profile of men's health issues, and to contribute to effective and gender-competent policy and practice in men’s health in Ireland. The Rehabilitative Sciences Research Centre was established to address the limited research base underpinning the clinical practice of Rehabilitative Therapy. The RSRC is primarily concerned with the critical evaluation of therapeutic practices and procedures employed by therapists in clinical practice, but also other areas such as strength and conditioning, exercise rehabilitation, gait analysis and sports rehabilitation. The aim of the group is to develop innovative and multi-disciplinary research and rehabilitative programs and to develop partnerships with other key stakeholders and clinicians in the area of rehabilitative science.
