The Pharmaceutical and Molecular Biotechnology Research Centre (PMBRC) has established itself as a leading research centre in the pharmaceutical, chemical and biological sciences in Ireland. Situated on the Cork Road campus, the centre has an innovative research programme spanning drug delivery, molecular biology, solid state pharmaceutical science, analytical science, biosensor development and biomedical science. One of 17 Enterprise Ireland-funded Technology Gateways, the PMBRC supports R&D activities of a wide range of industries including the pharma, med tech, engineering and agri-food sectors. A truly multidisciplinary team, researchers in the PMBRC include chemists, biologists, biomedical scientists, physicists and engineers, and the centre has established links with national and international partners across industry and academia. The PMBRC was named Pharma Research Centre of the Year at the 2020 Pharma Industry Awards, and has won the Research and Development Achievement award in 2017, 2019 and 2021.
