Dorsa is a PhD Candidate and a member of the Ocular Therapeutics Research Group in the Pharmaceutical and Molecular Biotechnology Research Centre, she graduated from the Pharm.D Program in the field of Pharmacy in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2017. She worked for 2 years on a thesis project called “Bioconjugated L-asparaginase on silica nanoparticles: production, preformulation and in vitro biological activity evaluation” at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. After her graduation, she worked as a community pharmacist for 6 years. Her background in nanotechnology and being a member of healthcare made her a qualified candidate for a PhD project aimed at developing nano-formulations for ocular diseases through patient and public involvement (PPI).

The PhD research project, entitled “Ocular Nano-Therapeutics through Engagement and Developmental Research Originating from PPI", is funded by the SETU PhD Scholarship Program. She is supervised by Dr Laurence Fitzhenry and co-supervised by Dr Evan Matthews, Prof Martina Gooney, Dr Muhammad Sarfraz.

The project aims to build on the success of the progenitor projects and develop to the preclinical stage a novel, patient-driven, therapeutic that will have the potential to improve the Quality of Life of those living with dry eye disease by ensuring the real needs of patient and care provider are met.
