Dr Fabrice Bartholin is a lecturer in Hospitality Management and Tourism at SETU Waterford Campus in Ireland. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from EHL Hospitality Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland. Fabrice transitioned from the hospitality industry to academia in 2015 and completed his Executive Master in Business Administration (MBA) with first-class honors at Waterford Institute of Technology in 2016. He later earned his PhD from Dublin City University, where his doctoral research explored how human resources and technology-enabled service systems impact frontline hospitality employees, customer experiences, and financial performance.

Fabrice is a committee member of THRIC (Tourism Hospitality Research Ireland Conference), a Member of SERVSIG  (Service Research Community), and IAM  (Irish Academy of Management).

Fabrice's doctoral research explores the impact of human and technology service systems on frontline employees, customer experiences, and financial performance in service organisations.

Owing to his background as a practitioner, Fabrice is enthusiastic about interdisciplinary research with practical applications. He is particularly interested in phenomena that impact frontline service experiences, employee well-being, and work experiences. 

Fabrice teaches theoretical modules in hospitality and tourism operations management, as well as practical courses in SETU’s Training Restaurant.  

Fluent in English, French, and Spanish, Fabrice has taught French to various cohorts under the Alliance Française umbrella at its Kilkenny Branch.
