Elshaafi Hisain is a lecturer in the department of computing and networking, SETU Carlow. Hisain is interested in research in ICT security, privacy and trust and related areas. Previously he worked as a research fellow in the area of trust and security at the TSSG, Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT). He holds PhD and MSc degrees from WIT and BSc honours degree in computer science from Dublin Institute of Technology. He has published research articles in conferences and journals in the areas of ICT security, trust, privacy, critical infrastructure protection and service-oriented computing. Hisain’s experience includes working with SMEs and large companies as partners in research projects and providing consultancy services. He has worked and took leading roles on several Irish and EU projects such as sTRUST, CoMiFin (Critical Financial Infrastructure Protection Middleware), Pripare (Preparing Industry to Privacy-by-design by supporting its Application in Research) and Aniketos (Secure and Trustworthy Service Composition).
