Jai Prakash Mehta, PhD, specializes in Molecular and Computational Biology with focus on Genomics, Systems Biology and Machine Learning Technologies. His research primarily explores the impact of gene expression and genetic variations on human health, particularly in the context of personalized medicine.
He did his PhD from National Institute of Cellular Biotechnology (NICB), Dublin City University in Molecular and Computational Biology and worked on Breast Cancer clinical and cell lines samples, identifying biomarkers for survival and drug resistance along with identifying molecular signatures in sub-types of Breast Cancer.
Following his doctoral studies, Jai Prakash Mehta continued his research at CONWAY and Systems Biology Ireland, University College Dublin (UCD), and worked on large number of projects involving Next Generation Sequencing and Systems Biology.
Currently he is Lecturer in South East Technological University (SETU). His research interest focusses on how cancer cells attain drug resistance from targeted therapies. His expertise includes working on Next Generation Sequencing, Systems Biology and Machine Learning models and applying them to different aspects of Life Science.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
