Biography

Resume

Juergen Bauer, Dipl. Ing. Architekt RIAI, trained as an Architect in Germany and Switzerland.
He graduated from Braunschweig Technical University in 1993 and then practiced in Architectural offices in Braunschweig, Munich and Berlin. While working at HENN Architects in Berlin, he gained specific experience in “Architectural Programming” i.e. project brief development and master planning.
He moved to Ireland in 2006 and joined the former Waterford Institute of Technology, which is now SETU Waterford. 
Juergen has lectured in the Department of Architecture, also serving as a year tutor and course leader. He has undertaken research in Architectural Acoustics and “Soundscape”. Currently, Juergen is the Departmental Project Coordinator of “Building Change 2022 - 2025”, an Irish initiative to prepare architectural education for climate change adaptation, circular economy and more resilient urban development. 
Juergen has been engaging in International cooperation on behalf of SETU for many years, helping to build up exchange with partners in Europe and Japan. He is a chartered member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland RIAI and the German Chamber of Architects.
