Biography

Laura Doyle is an Assistant Lecturer and PhD student in the Department of Social Care and Early Childhood in SETU.  In 2012, Laura graduated from the BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies in Social Care in South East Technological University.  In the years following her graduation, Laura worked as a Social Care Worker, Social Care Leader and Social Care Manager for over 10 years in the disability sector.

Since 2019 Laura has been undertaking her own research 'Moving Towards a Human Rights-Based Approach in Disability Services:  An Exploration of Social Care Workers and People who use Services Perceptions & Interpretations' which explores how social policy manifests, or translates, into social care practice. Laura is currently a member of the Workers Advisory Group (WAG) of Social Care Ireland, the Society for Disability Studies and the Sociological Association of Ireland.
