Biography

Maryam Fazlollahi Mohammadi has all her degrees in Forestry. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Agriculture and Food Science Centre, University College Dublin, and she worked on the trends of wood debris decomposition after different period of times and the effect of management on the carbon uptake in forests (Terrain-AI Project). She finished her Ph.D from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran. During her Ph.D, she has studied on the effect of catena on eco-physiological soil traits and the growth indices of a virgin beech stand in Hyrcanian forests. She has cooperated to the research project “(CarboPAD)" funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), Italy.

Her research interests are forest ecology, soil ecology, the interactions between soil and forests, and the effect of climate change on forests and soils. She has published several papers concerning the effect of land forms on soil properties, biodiversity and composition of trees, regeneration and herbaceous species in high quality journals (Such as Scientific Reposts, Nature, Catena). She acts as a proposal reviewer for the National Science Center, Poland. She is also active as a reviewer in journals such as Catena, Forest Policy and Economics Journal, Arid Land Research & Management Journal of Native and Agricultural Soil Environments. In 2022, Maryam joined SETU as a Forestry Lecturer and she is active in lecturing and leading the labs at Department of Land Science.
