Biography

Patrick McInerney is currently lecturing at South East Technological University, Waterford, Ireland in the Department of Computing and Mathematics with expertise in the area of photogrammetry, 3D modelling and lighting/rendering, human-machine symbosis, ontologies and computational semantics for machine learning in the digital humanities.

Since 1988, Patrick has worked extensively as an archaeological illustrator, surveyor and architectural photographer, working on a number of sites such as Kilkenny Castle, Waterford City Excavations, Dysart Castle, Co Kilkenny, among others. His work has been published in a variety of academic books, journals and periodicals.

In the digital cultural heritage domain, he is currently working with the INSYTE-Cooley research group, SETU, SETU Library, and a number of external partners, to carry out metrology-based digital capture (acquisition) and visual modelling of a range of culturally important material. He is currently leading the mementoArtem Digital Street Art Archive project with a view to developing a semantic web-enabled digital archive of national and international mural street art.
