Biography

Richard Hayes is a graduate of St Patrick's College Maynooth (BA [English and Philosophy], MA [English]) and of University College Dublin (PhD). He has been working in higher education since 1993 and at SETU since September 2000. 

Teaching

Dr Richard Hayes has taught in a number of higher education institutions in Ireland, including Mater Dei Institute of Education, NUI Maynooth, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, as well as in SETU. 

Research Interests

Dr Richard Hayes has published a number of articles and book chapters on American theatre, American cinema, Irish poetry and Irish literature. He is a member of the "Performing the Region" research team currently working on a number of projects relating to the theatre of Waterford city and the larger region.  He has also engaged in research on higher education policy.
