I am working as a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Additive Manufacturing of Mechanical Engineering at SETU-Waterford. Ireland. I received my PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Huddersfield. U.K, Masters from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM). I have 9 years of interdisciplinary Research and Professional experience working as a Researcher, Research Assistant/Fellow, Lecturer/Tutor, Engineer and Manager in the Industry, Universities, Research Institutes, and Technology gateway Catapult centres in five countries (Ireland, UK, Canada, New Zealand and India). 

My main motivations for choosing an academic profession are the opportunities to engage in high-quality research, collaborate on innovative educational initiatives, and teach and work closely with students of all age groups, colleagues, research scholars and various research organisations across different Industrial sectors. I am directly involved in developing and delivering first-of-its-kind (in Ireland) Masters and B.Sc courses in Additive Manufacturing. Supervising 4 M.Sc students,2 Erasmus Bachelor students and guided 5 B.Sc students; all related to Additive Manufacturing.  My broader area of interest is Advanced Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Materials Science and Engineering. I have been working on various advanced manufacturing techniques like Machining, Friction Welding, Friction Stir Welding and Additive Manufacturing (Laser Powder Bed Fusion, Electron Beam Melting, Direct Energy Deposition, Microwave Sintering, Selective Laser Sintering, Poly-jetting, Multi-jetting, Fusion deposition modelling). Investigating the microstructure, surface metrology and process-structure-property interrelationships of similar and dissimilar metals, metal alloys, polymers, ceramics, and composites. I am also experienced in the design of experiments (DOE), and process optimization by adopting various statistical tools like analysis of variance (ANOVA), Taguchi and RSM methods using Minitab software. Overall, I have completed more than 25 projects within my area of research.
