Dr Sinead Conneely has been teaching in SETU, for over 20 years. She has a keen interest in family law, and family mediation, with a focus on family law reform. Working closely with her research partner and former PhD student, Dr Roisin O'Shea, of Arc Mediation, they have engaged in interesting and important research in these fields and work towards a better user experience for everyone experiencing relationship breakdown or family conflict.
Sinead has a clear research focus on family mediation since her groundbreaking PhD in the area. In addition, she has been involved in empirical research to investigate family caselaw in the District Court, as a 'bone fide family law researcher'. She also co-supervises postgraduate projects in other areas of law and across other disciplines.
Sinead is an experienced teacher who has been engaged in education at every academic level from level 6 to level 10. She has taught on law and criminal justice programmes but also on other, non-law programmes such as early childhood care and education, social care and arts as law modules are to be found across the whole University.
