title = "Applicability of lean-sigma in IT service delivery system",
abstract = "This is a computer age and Information Technology (IT) finds its applicability in almost every aspects of our life like never before. IT has become an integral part of organizations which has fuelled the demand for IT professionals and IT companies. There are also many non-IT companies who maintain their own IT department to meet their demand. Cost incurred in IT is substantial which has major role to play in the price of commodities available in the market. Lean-sigma helps the company to gain competitive advantage over its competitors. Lean and Six-sigma were applied in only manufacturing companies in the past. Lean helped Toyota Motors to produce high quality product at relatively lower cost. The success of Lean and six sigma philosophies in manufacturing sector prompts us to think if these philosophies can be applied in IT sector too. This paper explains how these two philosophies can be applied in IT service delivery system, what will be the challenges and how to overcome them.",
