Abstract
This paper outlines the development of a comprehensive Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) manifestation framework for higher education institutions (HEIs). Following a comprehensive and broad literature review, which included philosophical EDI antecedents and emergent EDI practices in higher
education in Ireland, a focus group methodology was adopted to induce a cogent EDI manifestationframework. The highly structured framework can be used to systematically and critically assess EDI manifestation in HEIs across two major dimensions or axes: locus (from global to local) and manifestation
(from philosophy to praxis). Future work will seek to apply and validate the framework in HEIs to determine the nature of EDI manifestation in practice.
