Abstract

This paper presents a hypothesis framework for Industry 4.0 adoption. It is known as the "Three I's"and addresses Implementation, Implications and Impact. Research has been conducted regarding the lack of an agreed upon definition for Industry 4.0. Literature suggests that there isn't sufficient knowledge about Industry 4.0 in Ireland. A quantitative survey was completed by 115 stakeholders working in Ireland. The main concerns were related to training, skills and education. The "Three I's"Framework was further developed. It is proposed that this framework is used within an educational setting to help fill the Industry 4.0 knowledge gap in Ireland.
