Abstract
A new beginning has dawned in the emerald isles of Ireland, renowned globally for its 'céad míle fáilte' — a hundred thousand welcomes. A new chapter unfolds, challenging the fabric of this previously held national identity and warm-hearted narrative. This new beginning, however, is marked by rising concerns over immigration, a sentiment not traditionally associated with the Irish ethos. An Ipsos global poll recently underscored Ireland as the nation most apprehensive about immigration, a stark deviation from its history of embracing newcomers which has seen its numbers increase since the Celtic Tiger era.
