Abstract

As part of the H202 funded edgeFLEX project a system called Policy Based Grid Management (PBGM) was developed. PBGM is a software system that has the aim of facilitating brokerage between sector actors in the Smart Grid. It is an application built up of services that manage policies linked to assets or actions in the grid. It provides tools to store the policies, access the policies, decide upon actions based on the policies. It works by sensing events (like data access requests on APIs or message brokers) where a policy may be relevant, retrieves it and enforces that policy.
