(Re)defining Internationalisation through Internationalisation at Home (IaH) in the Irish Context

Abstract

On September 4, 2023, the researcher actively participated in the launch of the Transnational Mobility in Education (TramE) network at the University College Cork. This experience proved to be rewarding for the researcher, as they were granted the opportunity to contribute to the inaugural panel discussion, sharing valuable insights derived from their extensive research on Internationalisation at Home (IaH). The title of their presentation was '(Re)defining Internationalisation through Internationalisation at Home (IaH) in the Irish Context.'

Throughout their presentation, the researcher offered a glimpse into the historical origins and evolutionary journey of IaH. They underscored its alignment with the broader concept of internationalising curricula and highlighted its contemporary relevance, both on a global scale and within the specific context of Ireland. Engaging with an attentive and genuinely interested audience, the researcher found deep satisfaction in the recognition of the subject's significance within the Irish educational landscape.
